ANGELA GIGICA - LONDON BASED FREELANCE MOTION DESIGNER / ILLUSTRATOR / ANIMATOR
A Fox on a Box is Angela Gigica. That's me.
Made in Romania, based in London, I am an independent motion designer and animator with over 14 years of both full-time and freelance work experience.
I help brands and organisations communicate and tell their stories in a more authentic way, with clarity and in a visually engaging manner. These stories can take the shape of online promo videos, including character animations, broadcast content, adverts, branded elements for live events as well as corporate comms.
A wide range of skills allow me to take on a project from concept stage through to developing style-boards to storyboarding & illustrating the visual journey and right through to implementation phases and delivery.
I’ve been very fortunate to work with some amazingly talented people in a variety of environments in the UK and abroad: from large advertising agencies to production houses, broadcasters, boutique design studios and even architectural firms.

FEATURED PROJECTS
Universal / Trolls World Tour - Digital toolkits for social media - I've recently had the opportunity to work on animating 2D character artwork and developing short motion graphic and gif pieces for the social media campaigns due to run in autumn and Christmas 2020.
Coup 53 - a feature documentary film about the 1953 coup in Iran edited by the legendary Walter Murch (The Godfather I, II and III, Apocalypse Now, The Conversation). My role was to come up with a typography treatment for the opening credits and to design other motion graphics elements for the film. The film premiered in the UK at the BFI London Film Festival 2019.
Natural History Museum - I designed and animated a promo trailer for the ‘Crime Scene Live’ event.
Silent Witness - I was very fortunate to be able to help AKA’s lovely creative content team finish the new opening sequence of the critically acclaimed show Silent Witness produced by the BBC. My contribution to the project was to animate the hero particle.
